 Emporia State University is seeking a full-time Equipment Operator to join our Carpenter team located in Emporia, KS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and build cabinets, custom trims, counters (laminate and solid surface) using power and hand tools
  • Frame walls, install door frames, hang sheetrock, finish sheetrock, install ceiling grid and tile according to blueprint specifications
  • Make repairs to furniture and office equipment, and complete assigned maintenance requests

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Three years of related experience
  • Additional training and/or completion of a cabinet making apprenticeship may substitute for the required experience


Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift or maneuver 75-100 pounds 
  • Standing or walking for 7 or more hours per shift 
  • Movements that require manual dexterity, trunk strength, wrist-finger movement, twisting, bending, pushing, and pulling 

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $17.00/hr
  • The position works all year-round; schedule is 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday with an occasional evening or weekend for football games and other special events
