The School of Science and Mathematics at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, seeks to fill a nine-month, tenure-track position in chemistry beginning August 2024. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching responsibilities will include organic chemistry and/or general chemistry courses and upper-level courses within their area of expertise.
  • Faculty typically teach 12 contact hours per semester.
  • The development of a robust research program involving undergraduate students is expected. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry or closely associated field is required by start date
  • Demonstrated effectiveness teaching college-level chemistry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to develop a research program appropriate for undergraduate students


Desirable Qualifications:

  • A record of past success in mentoring, advising and teaching.
  • Demonstrated experience with undergraduate course design and curricular innovation.
