Nine-month, tenure track position in School of Science and Mathematics with teaching responsibilities in the School of Applied Health Studies at Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas, starting August 2024.

Successful candidates will show potential for enthusiastic and outstanding teaching and scholarship. A PhD required by start date. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The primary teaching/research emphasis of the position is applied human physiology.
• Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and master’s-level graduate courses in human physiology and other courses in the candidate’s area of specialty.
• This position will entail working collaboratively to develop an applied human physiology laboratory for teaching and research.
• The development of a robust research program involving undergraduate students in the healthcare-related majors and master’s students is expected. Faculty members typically teach 12 contact hours (or equivalent) per semester. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in applied physiology, human anatomy, human physiology, exercise physiology or related field, completed prior to start date.
• Demonstrated effectiveness teaching human anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Capacity to develop a research program that applies to human health

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in an applied human physiology laboratory and the ability to work collaboratively to develop such a laboratory at Emporia State University.
• Demonstrated experience with undergraduate course design or development and support of curricular innovation.
• The ability to teach immunology or human cadaver dissection.
