If you value small businesses and entrepreneurs, enjoy working with the public, and have strong business knowledge and skills, then consider joining the Kansas SBDC. This is a full-time, twelve-month position working out of the regional SBDC office at Emporia State University and serving clients in a seven-county area. There is excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Business Advisor will provide assistance and training to existing and prospective business owners in developing business and marketing plans, market research, financial projections, analyzing cash flow, and providing guidance with a range of additional topics, as well as promoting awareness of the SBDC, providing training workshops, and other responsibilities. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree + at least 3 years of experience.
  • The successful candidate will be detail oriented, organized, possess strong financial and marketing knowledge, be a good communicator, and have a desire to help small businesses.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related discipline; three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel in the service area and to in-state meetings.
  • Ability to work with significant level of trust, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to foster sound working relationships.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Office. 

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary:  $55,297 - $59,000 annually.
