The Assistant Director for Technology (ADT) maintains the ERP system for the Office of Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Veterans Services at Emporia State University. The ADT will be responsible for file transmissions between EdConnect and Banner. They will perform functional processes, to include tracking, packaging, and reporting as well as provide technical and functional support.


This position requires proficiency with Banner, EdConnect, specialized knowledge with JB/SQL scripts, as well as knowledge of financial aid regulations. This is a full time, Monday-Friday, 8-5, 12-month position located at Emporia State University (on site). This position reports directly to the Director of Financial Aid.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administration:

  • Be familiar with all aspects and functions of the ERP system, the programs required for website maintenance, and other web applications including electronic awarding.
  • Maintain the most updated versions of Banner and EdConnect.
  • Stay current with federal regulations and modify JB/SQL scripts accordingly.
  • Monitor all processing functions as they relate to outside, institutional, state, and federal funds including reconciliation; provide appropriate tracking methods, complete annual reporting, and load student information records into Banner.
  • Approach administrative tasks creatively and coordinate systems.
  • Ensure student records and various program records are maintained in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Load Student Information Records (FAFSA application data), develop and implement early awarding procedures and processes.
  • Work closely with enrollment functional areas, IT personnel, and the University Webmaster.
  • Attend appropriate technology Advisory Board and Banner meetings.
  • Participate in University committee work as assigned.


Fiscal Management:

  • Monitor all processing functions as they relate to outside, institutional, state, and federal funds including reconciling internal and external systems.
  • Provide appropriate tracking methods to coordinate accounting functions.
  • Complete annual federal reporting.
  • Assist external auditors and Institutional Effectiveness by generating data needed for reporting.


Program Development:

  • Aid in the preparation of special programs and serve as a program resource.
  • Meet regularly with the Financial Aid staff, the University Registrar, and collaborate with on and off campus offices as needed to ensure systems are adequate and updated when appropriate.
  • Develop reports for both on and off campus entities.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with all university departments.
  • Model professional and inclusive behavior.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong organizational skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups including students, faculty, administrators, and external service providers as necessary.
