This solution-oriented position requires the ability to work closely and confidentially with students and their families. Strong computer and communication skills are essential. The Administrative Specialist will oversee all processes related to document intake and in-person, email and telephone information dissemination.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule appointments and meetings for office staff
  • Process requests and payments related to payroll, purchasing, car reservations, reimbursements, etc.
  • Attend recruitment events
  • Analyze paper and electronic documents submitted by students and their families and offer appropriate guidance
  • Respond to in person, email and telephone inquiries
  • Oversee federal and state student employment programs, including reconciliation of funds for these programs
  • Hire, train and oversee student employees within the financial aid office; manage the front office
  • Provide accurate information which requires an excellent knowledge of institutional, state and federal regulation
  • General administrative duties – filing, scanning, copying, taking minutes, etc.
  • Other appropriate duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in an administrative setting.
  • Strong organization, oral and written communication skills as well as sound judgment are expected.
  • The ability to work under pressure with an extremely high degree of accuracy is necessary.
  • Strong computer skills including competency with an integrated data base is required.
  • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; experience working with state or federal regulations; experience in academic setting; previous supervisory experience

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $17.78 - $18.85 hourly.
