The Music Program at Emporia State University is seeking a Building Manager to join our team.


This is a full-time salaried position with benefits, working approximately 40 hours per week year-round. The daily work times will vary based on the needs of the Athletic Bands, Music Program Workshops, Recruitment events, Concerts and Recitals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with the logistics as needed for the Emporia State Athletic Bands includes:
  • Assisting with check-in/registration during the August Band Camp
  • Working with Emporia State Housing to secure information and keys for the team early athletic band dorm residents
  • Assisting the Co-Chairs to plan and prepare for the Emporia State Marching Festival and any potential, additional Kansas Bandmasters Association Marching Festival that Emporia State may host.
  • Assist the co-chairs during the marching festival(s) on-site as needed to the strength of the candidate.
  • Assist with game day and performance activities (as needed from the Director of Athletics Bands), including but not limited to procurement of pre-game meals for the ensemble, and helping the Director with student job coordination.
  • Assist the Director of Colorguard and Stingers Dance Team if needed for the Spring Workshop and Audition events.
  • Assist the Director of Percussion for the Spring Drumline Fundamentals Clinic.
  • Coordination of Music Events Schedule includes:
  • Coordinate communication with schools and students for music recruiting events.
  • Work with the ensemble directors, the Music Program Administrative Staff, ESU Conference and Scheduling, Albert Taylor Hall, and various off campus facilities to secure facilities as needed for rehearsals and performances throughout the year.
  • Work with the ensemble directors to assist with major on campus recruitment events
  • Overseeing Scheduling and training concert stage managers and recorders – with ability to trouble shoot recording equipment as needed.
  • Oversee and schedule the equipment/truck personnel and assist in management of equipment inventory for the music department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience
