The Department of Psychology at Emporia State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Psychology beginning August 2023. The area of specialization within psychology is open.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities of the position primarily include teaching undergraduate courses in the candidate’s area(s) of expertise (see below) and mentoring undergraduate research. Excellence in teaching, maintaining an active program of research that involves students, and service at the state, regional, and national levels are expected.
  • Teaching in-person and online undergraduate courses in the candidate’s area(s) of expertise. Candidates should be able to teach core program requirements, for example Developmental Psychology, Learning & Cognition, Social Psychology, and/or Research Methods. Candidates also have the opportunity to contribute electives in their area of specialization.
  • Engaging in scholarly research on topics of expertise via peer-reviewed publications and academic presentations.
  • Mentoring undergraduate student research.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. in Psychology
