Emporia State University is seeking two dynamic, people-oriented Learning Technology Designers to join our team. We are searching for candidates who demonstrate confidence and comfort in working with faculty, staff, and students with varying ranges of technology skills. Successful candidates will receive a competitive compensation package, in addition to comprehensive benefits. Salary is dependent upon training and demonstrated expertise. This is a 12-month position located in Emporia, KS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Course Design and Project Development

  • Apply various instructional design theories, models, and principles to identify, design, develop, implement, and evaluate appropriate teaching and learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with faculty or subject-matter experts to assess instructional needs, establish timelines for project completion, and identify desired outcomes.
  • Run logistics and time management for daily activities.
  • Practice in-the-moment and self-directed learning for problem solving and troubleshooting challenging issues.


Consultation and Collaboration

  • Cultivate collaborative working relationships with faculty and provide consultations in the design and structure of instructional solutions for active and collaborative learning.
  • Assist faculty and staff in integrating new learning technologies in courses.
  • Design online and in-person professional growth learning opportunities.
  • Provide services that facilitate the integration of technology across the curriculum.


Professional Development and Support

  • Teach at least one course per year to remain current within the profession.
  • Lead professional development workshops for faculty and staff to help them stay current with emerging technologies/applications.
  • Network to build bridges with the rest of the university, community, and colleagues.
  • Participate in University committees, task forces, and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years direct work experience.
  • Quality Matters certification, or a willingness to obtain QM certification. 

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $48,000-$61,000 annually
  • Qualifications and previous experience will be considered for salary.
