This is a full-time, twelve-month position working out of the regional SBDC office at Emporia State University and serving clients in an eleven-county area. There is excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Business Advisor will provide assistance and training to existing and prospective business owners in developing business and marketing plans, market research, financial projections, analyzing cash flow, and providing guidance with a range of additional topics,
  • Promoting awareness of the SBDC,
  • Providing training workshops, and other responsibilities. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a related field, with more than three years of related professional experience.
  • The successful candidate will be detail oriented, organized, possess strong financial and marketing knowledge, be a good communicator, and have a desire to help small businesses,
  • Ability to travel in the service area and to in-state meetings; ability to work with significant level of trust, tact and diplomacy; ability to foster sound working relationships; strong analytical ability; computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Office. 


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related discipline; with at least five years of relevant experience

  • Salary is commensurate based on experience and/or degree.
