Emporia State University is seeking applications for an Executive Associate for the School of Humanities & Social Sciences. This is a 12 month onsite position, benefits eligible and based in Emporia, KS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the point of contract for the School of Humanities & Social Sciences with other entities on campus for the purposes of human resources, payroll, purchasing, travel, record keeping, budgeting, and other departmental tasks.
  • Manage the office including hiring & onboarding, scheduling, and supervising staff, student & GTA workers.
  • Provide accounting assistance including payroll, purchasing, invoicing, deposits, BPC, travel and oversee & review all forms submitted throughout the office.
  • Assistant to the Dean. Help prepare various school correspondence, and reports, while also helping to manage schedules and perform tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate the completion of paperwork authorizing the recruitment and hiring of faculty and staff for the School when necessary. Serve as Search Coordinator in school hiring process.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and/or
  • 5+ years of administrative or managerial experience
  • Proficiency in Spanish language


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, with at least 2 years of administrative or managerial experience.
  • One year of experience managing budgets and/or governmental purchasing
  • Familiarity with Banner, Quicken, Quickbooks, or other budgeting system.

 

Additional Skills

  • Accounting Skills (Quicken, Quick books, or managing of large budgets experience).
  • Administrative & Managerial skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite
  • Leadership Skills
