INSURANCE ENROLLMENT

Employees can log into the Membership Administration Portal (MAP) to review their insurance elections, and make changes when appropriate. To make changes to your insurance elections you must fall into one of three categories: new employee, current employee with a qualifying event, or current employee during the open enrollment period.

NEW EMPLOYEE ENROLLMENT

Employees who wish to enroll in insurance coverage must do so within the first 30 days from their date of hire.


To make insurance elections follow these instructions :

  1. After meeting with a Human Resources representative and confirming that your record has been created in MAP system, you can log in: https://sso.cobraguard.net/seer_login.php
  2. Select Emporia State University the drop down box
  3. Enter in your Emporia State User ID and password
  4. If you need assistance with your ID and password, contact the Help Desk at (620) 341-5555
  5. Click on the Enrollments and Events tab
  6. Click Launch Enrollment
  7. Click on Make Your Elections
  8. Follow the prompts to complete your enrollment
  9. On the last page, scroll to the very bottom of the page and click the green Save and Submit button
  10. When it returns you to the final screen, you can either print or save your elections, or you can return to your Account Overview.
  11. A copy of your elections should also be sent to your email address
  12. Please keep a copy of your enrollment elections


Coverage begins from the first day of employment if an employee elects coverage. Employees hired between October-December will also need to complete their Open Enrollment to choose insurance for the following calendar year.

Once enrolled in insurance, don't forget to take advantage of the incentives available through HealthQuest.

MIDYEAR CHANGES - QUALIFYING EVENT

The insurance elections made during new employee enrollment and/or open enrollment are binding until the next open enrollment period unless the employee experiences a qualifying event. Qualifying events include the birth or adoption of a child, marriage, divorce, death of a spouse or dependent, or the gain (or loss) of employment/benefits for a spouse or a dependent. Changes to insurance coverage must be requested within 30 days of the qualifying event, and documentation of the event will be required.

Please contact Human Resources for assistance with making changes to your coverage for a Qualifying Event.


OPEN ENROLLMENT

The State of Kansas open enrollment period is October 1-31 each year. During this time employees must log into MAP to make insurance elections for the next calendar year. Employees who do not complete their elections during this period will be place into Plan N with a Health Reimbursement Account.


To make insurance elections follow these instructions:

  1. During the month of October, log into the MAP system (https://sso.cobraguard.net/seer_login.php)
  2. Select Emporia State University the drop down box
  3. Enter in your Emporia State User ID and password
  4. If you need assistance with your ID and password, contact the Help Desk at (620) 341-5555
  5. Click on the Enrollments and Events tab
  6. Click Launch Enrollment (you should see an Open Enrollment option)
  7. Click on Make Your Elections
  8. Follow the prompts to complete your enrollment
