Emporia State University Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer. This position will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in the development and management of all Graduate Assistants, Assistant Athletic Trainers, and athletic training students. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRIMARY TRAINING DUTIES: 

  • Provide athletic training services for Emporia State University’s athletic programs, including coverage of home and away practices and games.
  • Administer daily evaluations, preventative exercises, emergency care, treatments, and rehabilitative sessions.
  • Assist in the management of athletic training room operations including: maintenance, flow of care to student-athletes, cleaning equipment, etc.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer.
     

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: 

  • Keep accurate records of athletes' injuries, treatment, and medication.
  • Ensure program records, medical histories, and insurance information is collected and organized.
  • Serve as a liaison to team physicians, medical specialists, student-athletes, and parents.
  • Manage the flow of information and answer questions


PUBLIC RELATIONS DUTIES: 

  • Work with physicians, other athletic trainers, and student-athletes to deliver comprehensive athletic training techniques and treatments, ensuring safety and high quality performance.


MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES: 

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room.
  • Report necessary repairs as needed to ensure the athletic training facility is fully operational.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by Head Athletic Trainer.
  • Supervise all graduate assistant athletic trainers and athletic training students.
     

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, and the MIAA is of paramount importance.
  • The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations.
  • As a condition of employment, the employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training required.
  • BOC certification and have or be eligible for a Kansas Athletic Training License.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related, professional experience strongly preferred


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 annually
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
