The Director of Athletic Digital Content & Marketing will lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of digital media and marketing initiatives to promote the University's athletic programs. This position will manage all aspects of digital content creation, social media engagement, and marketing campaigns to enhance the visibility of the department's brand and support athletic events.


Note: This opportunity is open only to current ESU students who are graduating in the Spring semester.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement digital content strategies to promote all athletic programs across multiple platforms.
  • Oversee social media content, including planning, creation, scheduling, and analytics for all varsity sports.
  • Manage website content and coordinate updates with relevant department staff.
  • Collaborate with coaches, student-athletes, and university marketing teams to produce engaging multimedia content.
  • Lead digital storytelling efforts that elevate the student-athlete experience and promote departmental values.
  • Design and execute marketing campaigns to increase attendance and engagement at athletic events.
  • Supervise interns and student workers assisting with content production and event promotion.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the University’s branding and NCAA compliance standards.
  • Maintain an active understanding of current digital trends and best practices in collegiate athletics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a current University student graduating in the Spring semester.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in digital content creation, social media management, or marketing.
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, etc.) and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by athletic event schedules.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred.

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 annually
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
