Emporia State University’s (ESU) Art Therapy Program in Emporia, KS seeks applications for one tenure track OR multi-year appointment. The ESU graduate art therapy program is accredited by CAAHEP/ACATE.
This position may be offered as a tenure-track, multi-year contract (non-tenure track up to three years), or non-tenure-track appointment, with consideration of factors including, but not limited to, academic program needs, the authority of Emporia State University, the qualifications of candidates, and consideration of the interests of candidates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate teaching excellence and invest in service to the department, university, and profession.
- Workload will require teaching, service, academic advising, supervision, assisting in ongoing compliance with CAAHEP/ACATE accreditation, program duties such as advising the Student Art Therapy Organization and assisting with the program’s annual conference, and contributing to program and university assessment.
- Grant-writing, publication, and other scholarly activities are encouraged.
- Opportunities for summer teaching may be available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
- The position requires a graduate degree in art therapy, national art therapy credentials (ATR-BC), successful teaching and/or supervision experience at the university level (preferably with graduate art therapy and/or counseling students), a strong art therapy identity, exceptional oral and written communication skills, and skills/willingness to teach online as needed
Preferred qualifications:
- Significant art therapy practice experience
- Record of university teaching excellence
- Record of professional presentations and/or academic publications
- Service to the art therapy profession
- Online teaching experience or willingness to learn
Exceptional qualifications:
- Counseling license or eligible to obtain licensure in school counseling (KSDE equivalent or LPC), addictions (LAC/LCAC), mental health (LPC), or rehabilitation counseling (CRC)
- A master’s or doctorate with the term counseling in the title.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $52,912 – $80,230 annually
- Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
