Emporia State University’s (ESU) Counselor Education programs in Emporia, Kansas seek applications for one non-tenure track multi-year appointment and may be structured with administrative responsibilities in our CACREP-accredited Clinical Counseling and School Counseling programs. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The position emphasizes teaching and development of effective school counseling practitioners or clinical counselors (including addictions, mental health, or rehabilitation counseling) at the graduate level.
  • The ESU program is a 60-credit degree program that meets both school and clinical licensure for the state of Kansas. Responsibilities include teaching asynchronous and synchronous online courses in school counseling and clinical counseling, advising students, providing supervision to interns, performing scholarly and service activities, and participating in CACREP/KSDE/CAEP accreditation endeavors. Opportunities for summer teaching are available

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduated with a doctorate degree from a CACREP program or meets the criteria for core faculty members per the 2024 CACREP standards.
  • Current licensure in the field, or eligible to obtain licensure in school counseling (KSDE equivalent or LPC), addictions (LAC/LCAC), mental health (LPC), or rehabilitation counseling (CRC).
  • Online teaching experience or willingness to learn


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience and licensure as a school counselor, or in one of the clinical counseling fields (addictions, mental health, or rehabilitation counseling)
  • Record of university teaching excellence
  • Record of professional presentations and/or academic publications
  • Service to the profession

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $60,000 - $65,000  annually
  • Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
