Assistant/Associate/or Full Professor

Emporia State University (ESU) is seeking Information Systems candidates with expertise in Data Analytics or Information Security for a tenure-track/ tenured nine-month position. The expected start date is no later than August 2025, will consider January 2025 start date. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is housed in the AACSB-accredited School of Business and Technology. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary responsibility in teaching data analytics or security with secondary roles to include other courses such as programming , SQL, theory, data base, networking, application development, and artificial intelligence for undergraduate and graduate programs
  • Demonstrated track record of or potential for scholarship and publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Participate in recruitment and engagement activities for the school and university
  • Significant but not exclusive level of campus presence

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates at the Assistant Professor level must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. degree or have ABD status with an expected completion by July 2025 in Information Systems (IS) or a related field from a professionally accredited program (e.g. AACSB, ABET, or EQUIS). Prior experience in teaching at undergraduate/graduate level is also desired.
  • Candidates at the Associate Professor level must have a Ph.D. in IS or a related field from a professionally accredited program (e.g. AACSB, ABET, or EQUIS) with demonstrated teaching experience (both online and face-to-face) in undergraduate and graduate courses and have an established record of publications in ABDC peer-reviewed journals.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in grant writing and management
  • Relevant industry experience/certifications (AWS, VM Ware, CompTIA) 
  • Extensive teaching experience in face-to-face or online modalities.

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $73,715-$129,239  annually
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
