Emporia State University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our Information Technology (IT) team.
This role is essential to the management and support of the university’s data center environments, focusing on both hardware and operating systems.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to help maintain and evolve our enterprise systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a core member of the Server Team, administering enterprise-class servers and storage systems.
- Act as the primary system administrator for both Windows and Linux-based servers.
- Design, architect, and maintain enterprise platforms including VMware, NetApp, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory, and identity management systems.
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and software.
- Conduct performance testing, database administration, system security, and data storage management.
- Collaborate with the endpoint deployment team to support installation, troubleshooting, and solution development.
- Assist with asset inventory, hardware refresh cycles, and budget planning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of system administration experience.
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field with 2+ years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 1+ year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Linux systems.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $26.59 - $28.85 hourly
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
