As a key member of the ESU Foundation’s executive leadership team, the Vice President of Alumni & Constituent Engagement drives a comprehensive, inclusive engagement strategy to foster lifelong connections with ESU. Leading a dedicated team, this role develops impactful programs that align with the University’s mission, goals, and priorities, offering diverse opportunities for alumni and constituent involvement.
The VP sets strategic goals and priorities for engagement, provides executive leadership to the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and ensures seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in strengthening alumni relationships, enhancing engagement experiences, and advancing the University's long-term success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead alumni and constituent engagement as a university-wide strategic initiative. Work closely with university departments including Student Success, Admissions, and Marketing/Outreach to ensure alignment and coordination of engagement initiatives.
- Develop and implement the ESU Engagement Model to track engagement, drive volunteerism, event participation, and giving.
- Serve as the chief alumni relations officer, leading a team to balance engagement and philanthropy. Build and oversee a robust regional alumni club network, raising visibility and engagement in key geographic markets.
- Expand volunteer leadership opportunities, ensuring a strong, diverse pipeline of alumni leaders for boards, committees, and mentorship roles.
- Personally cultivate relationships with alumni and constituents regionally, nationally, and internationally to advance university goals.
- Develop a strategic communications plan in collaboration with advancement and annual giving teams, utilizing digital and social media and integrated marketing initiatives to enhance and strengthen connections to the institution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelors degree in community relations, development, communications, or a related field. All candidates must have ten (10) years of leadership experience with a confident, engaging and motivational style.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred candidates will have strong judgement, diplomacy, and collaboration skills across disciplines.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and managing multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking and proven ability to lead experienced staff and volunteers, using data-driven strategies to inspire results.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $101,333 - $140,000 Annually
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
