Emporia State University invites applications for an assistant teaching professor position in curriculum and instruction in The Teachers College, located in Emporia, Kansas.


This is a multi-year contracted position The appointment will commence in August 2026. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The successful applicant will have education and related professional experience to teach a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses related to curriculum and instruction, in both elementary and secondary education, incorporating the latest strategies and methodologies.
  • Other teaching responsibilities may be assigned based on the education and professional experience of the candidate.
  • The position may include teaching online courses in our programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of successful elementary or secondary school teaching experience. The candidate must have experience as a classroom teacher in an accredited school. 
  • Training in research-based approaches to teach education course related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction education or related degree



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching education majors at the graduate and undergraduate level
  • Experience supervising preservice teachers during student teaching semesters

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary:  $53,286 - $69,360 annually
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
