Associate Controller and Director of Student Financial Services

The Associate Controller reports to the Controller for the Business Office.

The anticipated start date is April 2026. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and approve all financial contracts for the university.
  • Supervise and provide back up to Student Services and Cashiering Services. Provide oversite and guidance on best practices, supervising employees, researching and resolving questions that may arise and providing backup for those positions when needed.
  • Oversee Financial training of employees across campus and work with individual employees to answer questions and resolve problems related to transaction processing and monitor financial position. Maintain a chart of accounts.
  • Report taxes related to international students/athletes with scholarships, tuition and financial aid for IRS reporting. Maintain proper reporting of fringe benefits for Form W-2. Meet all reporting requirements to IRS, State of Kansas, auditors, and other miscellaneous groups and financial institutions, along with nonroutine requests by various on and off campus entities. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting or a similar industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 


Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA
  • Governmental fund accounting experience
  • Knowledge of Banner Finance Systems 


COMPENSATION:

  • Salary:  $86,068 - $90,000 Annually
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
