The Executive Assistant to the University President is a highly visible role that requires interaction with students, faculty, staff, trustees, community partners and donors. They provide expansive support to the President and members of the Leadership Team. The Executive Assistant maintains strict confidentiality and helps the President stay focused on institutional priorities. The Executive Assistant works independently to manage complex and sensitive situations that possess the potential to have major impact on the university. They exercise good judgment in a range of circumstances, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, organizational skills, and maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities working effectively under pressure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support for the President by managing the president’s residence, email, travel, meetings, follow-up, and various other project support. Uses excellent judgment, discretion, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the college and broader community. Primarily supports the President and provides administrative support to C level executives by coordinating meetings and events, travel arrangements, and other strategic initiatives.
- Anticipates the needs and preferences of the President, identifies solutions, and takes initiative to predict and plan and complete tasks from conception to completion without reliance on direction from leadership.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations. Manage communications with the leadership team. Communicate or reply on behalf of the President. Represents the President’s standard and maintains a professional and respectful disposition.
- Responds to requests and inquiries from internal and external representatives, using discernment to determine priority to ensure effective use of President’s time. Receive and direct inquiries and electronic correspondence. Delegate or re-direct to appropriate division on behalf of the President as appropriate.
- Responds to requests from the Kansas Board of Regents and KBOR CEO; assists with coordination of calls, meetings, and campus visits.
- Provides oversight of the bookkeeping accounts for the foundation and state accounts and assists with the development of the zero-based budgets. Provides support with hiring and managing student employee schedules, manages the many details to ensure continuity within the Office of the President.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree and five to ten years of professional experience in an administrative setting with three to five years supporting upper level executives.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $55,297 - $85,710 Annually
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
