Emporia State University is seeking for two full-time Equipment Operators to join our Landscaping team located in Emporia, KS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and maintain landscape and gardens
- Apply mulch, fertilizer, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides to garden areas
- Manage container plantings, annual display beds, and specialty gardens
- Trim shrubs, plant grass, and clean up leaves
- Operate mowers, weed eaters, skid loaders, and other landscaping equipment
- Serve as part of the snow/ice clearing team during the winter
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license
- One year of experience related to landscaping or operating similar equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in maintenance and repair of irrigation systems
- Athletic field painting and maintenance
- General Exam and 3B Turf Pests Exams license
- Horticulture degree or turf grass coursework
- Skid steer operator training
- Small equipment maintenance training
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift or maneuver 75-100 pounds
- Standing or walking for 7 or more hours per shift
- Movements that require manual dexterity, trunk strength, wrist-finger movement, twisting, bending, pushing, and pulling
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $13.34 - $18.67 hourly
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
