The AACSB-accredited School of Business and Technology at Emporia State University (ESU) is seeking Information Systems candidates for a full-time position. The position will commence in the Spring or Fall of 2026. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This position may be offered as a tenure-track, multi-year contract (non-tenure track up to three years), or non-tenure-track appointment, with consideration of factors including, but not limited to, academic program needs, the authority of Emporia State University, the qualifications of candidates, and consideration of the interests of candidates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary responsibility is teaching information systems, data analytics and/or security courses (e.g. Systems Analysis, Database, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Network, Security, and Programming Languages, etc.) in both undergraduate cand graduate programs in both on-campus and online format.
- Active research, scholarly activities in the related field leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Make contributions in service to the School, the University, and the broader community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates at the Assistant Professor level must have completed all requirements for a terminal degree or have ABD status in the area of Information Systems (IS) or in a related field from an accredited program. Candidates should demonstrate promising research potential leading to publications in ABDC peer-reviewed journals.
- Candidates at the associate professor level must have a terminal degree (doctorate) in the area of IS or in a related field from an accredited program with demonstrated teaching experience (both online and face-to-face) in undergraduate and graduate courses and have an established record of publications in ABDC peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in face-to-face or online modalities.
- Prior experience in teaching at undergraduate/graduate level is also desired.
- Relevant industry experience in the field of Information Technology.
- Professional certificates relevant to data analytics/information security (e.g. AWS, VM Ware, CompTIA)
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $95,000 - $120,000 annually
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
