The Licensure Solutions Officer at Emporia State University is a year-round, salaried, administrative position located in Emporia, Kansas. 

 

The Licensure Solutions Officer reports to the Director of the Office of Field Placement and Licensure. 

 

The anticipated start date is June 2026. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Process all licensure applications through the KLAS system and accurately maintain the licensure records as well as the licensure progress for restricted license/LERP and post-baccalaureate students; consult with students about eligibility for application 
  • Serve on committee to evaluate transcripts for post-baccalaureate/restricted license students. Serve as a resource in licensure by advising faculty, staff, current education students, former students now alumni, area teachers, and school administrators. Supervise staff in the Office of Field Placement and Licensure. 
  • Monitor student progress on KSDE waivers by sending plans of study sent to school districts; communicate with principals or direct supervisors about student progress 
  • Process required paperwork including placement agreement form for mentor, principal, intern to secure elementary education online placements for both Block 2 and Block 2 students; Create and monitor MOU with districts for all placements 
  • Data entry into AMS for placements of all initial elementary and secondary programs; Data entry into AMS or other data collection software for the Praxis test results; Retrieve and enter the state and national Praxis test comparison data for KSDE reports. 
  • Enter institution testing date in ETS Title II pass rate reporting; Prepare reports and/or provide license/program data to Assistant/Associate Deans and various programs for state/federal reporting. 
  • Serve as the chair of the Disclosure Committee for all initial programs at ESU; Serve on the Council of Teacher Education; serve on University/Teachers College committees, as assigned.   

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution 
  • 4+ years of related experience at a college or university or a minimum of 4+ years experience as a teacher or administrator in a K-12 school setting 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Willingness to learn teacher licensure systems, processes, and assessment reporting in Kansas 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution 
  • Knowledge of teacher education landscape in the state of Kansas 
  • Knowledge of operation of university systems and academic education programs 

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary:  $60,000 - $65,105 Annually
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
