The Director of Clinical and Student Experiences at Emporia State University is a 12-month salaried, administrative position located in Emporia, Kansas.


The Director reports to the Dean of The Teachers College.


The anticipated start date is June 2026. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with academic departments within and outside of The Teachers College regarding initial and advanced teacher education candidates.
  • Serve as liaison between The Teachers College and various school partners.
  • Facilitate student visits for potential ESU students and daily student visits, attend and participate in Black and Gold events, attend and participate in Hornet Orientations, attend and participate in recruitment events as requested
  • Serve on various department, college, and partner committees, including the Academic Leadership Council, Council for Teacher Education and Emporia Teachers Council
  • Support all aspects of field placement, including but not limited to student internship and other field-based experiences.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Ensure compliance documents for placements are current and valid.
  • Create, manage, and analyze application processes for initial programs
  • Create, revise and update Canvas courses for initial programs for student teaching
  • Train and support education and academic supervisors for field-based experiences.
  • Train mentor teachers.
  • Facilitate the TLP assessment and assessment process
  • Distribute, collect, and upload assessment data for KSDE and CAEP accreditation
  • Manage assessment/survey distribution through software systems
  • Monitor candidate progress in student teaching and field-based experiences, preparing and implementing Tier 2 Support Documents and Tier 3 Support Contracts as needed.
  • Coordinate student teaching orientations and required meetings.
  • Application for 4 week opportunities during student teaching
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate the New Teacher Conference two times each year
  • Facilitate partnerships with Milken Educators and others

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required with doctorate in a field directly related to teacher educator preparation.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years experience in an education related field or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a focus on building partnerships and collaboration.
  • Evidence in a supervisory role
  • Evidence of technology skills including Learning Management Systems, Excel, Word, and other software

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary:  $71,723.00 - $114,757.00
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
