Emporia State University invites applicants for Graduate Advisor in The Teachers College. The successful applicant will serve as the graduate academic advisor to students in graduate education programs helping them succeed in their academic advising program through graduation and state licensure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Education Graduate Advisor duties include assisting students with admission/application to programs, recruitment and retention of students, maintaining a relationship with the Graduate School, facilitating the waiver application process for programs, monitoring progress towards degree, monitoring academic policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and manage programming and student information, supervise student workers or graduate assistants, and serve as a liaison for the program on committees

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree + at least 3 years of experience.
  • The successful candidate will be detail oriented, organized, be a good communicator, and have a desire to help students with their successful completion of programs.
  • Ability to work with significant level of trust, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to foster sound working relationships.
  • Computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Office. 

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary:  $48,084 annually.
  • Qualifications and previous experience will be considered for placement of base rank and salary.
