The Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Emporia State University is an essential part of the university’s transformation and to the health and long-term vitality of the university. Emporia State is seeking an experienced, competitive, results-driven professional with a proven track as an effective and decisive leader who excels at professional development of employees and building strong teams.

 

This capable leader will execute a metrics-based, ever-evolving strategic recruitment plan to yield a cohort of newly enrolled undergraduate students. The selected candidate will deliver a superior student recruitment experience that will attract new students to Hornet Nation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic + tactical leadership of all aspects of university undergraduate admissions functions.
  • Develop a data-driven strategic recruitment plan in collaboration with the vice president and partners across campus.
  • Develop strategic objectives with associated key performance indicators for all staff – recruitment, data processing and administrative.
  • Develop and deliver reports that 1) provide actionable data to leadership and admissions teams; and 2) conveys status to goals.
  • Recommend partner / vendor strategy that helps ESU achieve its recruitment objectives. Ongoing management of contracts and relationships with key vendors including CRM, name buys, higher ed enrollment firms, etc.,


  • Organization design + talent development
  • Conduct continual organizational assessment to ensure the undergraduate admissions team is staffed to operate at optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Create career pathing and professional development objectives and plans for undergraduate admissions staff.
  • Conduct ongoing training of admissions team to foster culture of continuous improvement to deliver an elevated recruitment experience.
  • Ongoing selection, training and evaluation of ESU admissions team employees.


  • Strategic relationship development
  • Build relationships with community colleges, school personnel, alumni, key organizations and other entities to build trust and pipelines of prospective students for ESU. 
  • Build relationships with campus partners – IT, Enrollment Services, Student Success, Faculty / Academic Affairs to ensure alignment
  • Work closely with ESU Marketing + Communication to develop aligned strategies for effective, highly-coordinated approach to attract new students to ESU. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree and five-years of experience in Undergraduate Admissions, Sales, Recruitment or other related leadership roles with progressively increasing levels of administrative and supervisory experience.
  • Superior leadership, team-minded and excellent talent development
  • Strategic, data-driven employee with proven track record of achieving goals, performance targets.

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary:  $75,000 - $110,000 annually.
  • Qualifications and previous experience will be considered for placement of base rank and salary.
