Emporia State University currently has a Carpenter vacancy with our University Facilities team located in Emporia, KS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and build cabinets, custom trims, counters (laminate and solid surface) using power and hand tools
  • Frame walls, install door frames, hang sheetrock, finish sheetrock, install ceiling grid and tile according to blueprint specifications
  • Make repairs to furniture and office equipment, and complete assigned maintenance requests

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Three years of related experience
  • Additional training and/or completion of a cabinet making apprenticeship may substitute for the required experience

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift or maneuver 75-100 pounds
  • Standing or walking for 6 or more hours per shift
  • Movements that require manual dexterity, trunk strength, wrist-finger movement, twisting, bending, pushing, and pulling.

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $17 hourly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
