Emporia State University is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and student-centered professional to serve as the Director of Student Health Services. This position provides both clinical and strategic leadership for the University's health care operations within the Student Wellness Center. The Director is responsible for delivering accessible, high-quality health services that support student well-being, academic success, and retention through an integrated approach focused on prevention, early intervention, student resiliency, and coordinated care.
The Director combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities related to clinic operations, staff supervision, compliance, strategic planning, assessment, and campus and community partnerships. Working collaboratively across the University, this role plays a key part in advancing a holistic and sustainable model of student wellness.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct patient care and clinical oversight, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, testing, care planning, and referrals in accordance with professional standards and applicable regulations.
- Lead day-to-day Health Services operations and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, laboratory requirements, professional standards, and university policies.
- Supervise, develop, and evaluate Health Services staff, including oversight of staffing, scheduling, professional development, and student employees.
- Establish strategic priorities for Student Health Services and support an integrated and sustainable wellness model.
- Utilize data and assessment measures to evaluate service utilization, outcomes, and effectiveness while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with campus and community partners to promote health education, prevention initiatives, early intervention strategies, and appropriate referral processes.
- Participate in campus-wide initiatives focused on student health, wellness, retention, and student success.
- Oversee Health Services budgets, contracts, equipment, and other resources to ensure effective and sustainable operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A successful candidate must possess:
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider or Physician eligible for practice in Kansas.
- National Board Certification.
- Clinical experience appropriate to the responsibilities of the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading or administering a college or university health service, student health clinic, primary care practice, or similar health care setting.
- Experience supervising clinical and/or administrative staff.
- Experience with health care compliance, risk management, and clinic operations.
- Experience working with college students or emerging adults.
- Experience using data and assessment to improve health services, student outcomes, and operational effectiveness.

COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be negotiable based upon education & experience
