Emporia State University is seeking an enthusiastic, relationship-focused professional to serve as a College Access Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in expanding access to higher education through high school outreach, student engagement, college readiness initiatives, and enrollment support. Working closely with students, families, high school counselors, educators, administrators, and community partners, the College Access Coordinator helps connect prospective students with opportunities available through Emporia State University, including Jump Start, Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, academic programs, and admissions initiatives. 



Reporting to the Director of School Relations & Partnerships, the College Access Coordinator supports outreach efforts designed to increase college awareness and enrollment while helping students successfully navigate the transition from high school to higher education. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who enjoys building relationships, coordinating events, and supporting student success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide operational support for the University's Jump Start program and other college access initiatives by assisting students, families, counselors, and participating schools through established application and enrollment processes. 
  • Coordinate enrollment documentation, student follow-up, communications, and resources that help students successfully navigate enrollment and access opportunities. 
  • Conduct high school visits, classroom presentations, college and career events, and other outreach activities promoting Jump Start, CTE pathways, academic programs, and college access opportunities. 
  • Develop and deliver College 101 programming to help students explore educational pathways, understand the college experience, and prepare for the transition to higher education. 
  • Support and maintain relationships with high school counselors, administrators, educators, and community partners through regular outreach and engagement. 
  • Coordinate opportunities for ESU faculty, deans, and academic representatives to engage with prospective students. 
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, student engagement, and enrollment activity utilizing CRM systems, institutional reporting tools, and other university technologies. 
  • Coordinate recruitment and enrollment materials, including admitted student packets, mailings, and student communications, ensuring information is accurate and distributed in a timely manner. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with alumni educators throughout the region. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

A successful candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in education, communications, business, student affairs, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of postsecondary education and relevant professional experience. 

Candidates should also possess:

  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in secondary education, higher education admissions or recruitment, dual/concurrent enrollment programming, student success initiatives, or a related field. 
  • Experience organizing events and managing multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining professional relationships with educators, administrators, community partners, or similar stakeholders. 
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills. 

COMPENSATION:

$48,000 annually.
